Welcome to The Anchorage! Our home is located in the heart of Anchorage, minutes from both highways, grocery stores, the well-loved Fire Island Bakery where you can grab some delicious pastries and coffee, and access to miles of the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Return to the house after a day of adventuring to enjoy our gorgeous Alaskan evenings in the fully fenced backyard around the firepit. Our home offers a full kitchen, smart TVs in each bedroom, wifi, a wood stove, and a safe neighborhood.
Kick off your shoes and relax in our cozy space in front of the woodstove or around the fire pit in the fully fenced-in backyard. Our Alaskan evenings are cherished and you'll find yourself outside until the wee hours of the morning before you know it. Don't worry- each bedroom has up/down shades as well as blackout curtains for privacy and darkness. Downtown Anchorage is just a quick 5-minute drive where you'll find wonderful restaurants, breweries, and shopping. We have a fun nightlife downtown, but don't be afraid to check out some of the local favorite spots like the Buckaroo or the world-famous Chilkoot Charlie's!
The Anchorage was built in 1952 and while it has plenty of quirks, it is fully renovated, thoughtfully decorated, and has plenty of charm. You will find a fully stocked kitchen complete with a complimentary coffee station, a washer and dryer, and a charming backyard that begs you to step outside and enjoy the long Alaskan daylight.
In the master bedroom, you'll find a queen memory foam mattress and a custom-made farm-style barn door that includes a full-sized mirror. You'll also find a desk and a built-in closet system in this space. Looking for a night in? Try logging into your favorite streaming services and catch your favorite show or the newest movie on the 65" smart TV. There is a small fan available for your use in this room as well in case we have a hot summer or you just need a little white noise to help you sleep.
The second bedroom is located just across the living room and features a cozy full-size memory foam mattress, a 43" smart TV, and a full-sized mirror.
The third bedroom is also located across the living room and features a comfortable full-size memory foam mattress, a 43" smart TV, a bench, and a mirror.
Our sofa provides additional sleeping for up to two but requires owner approval ahead of time for more than 4 people staying on our property. If one of your 4 approved guests decides to sleep on the sleeper sofa, you do not need approval. Thank you for respecting our house rules.
While our rooms are minimally furnished, we have designed the space to meet your needs for your short-term stay. All of our mattresses and pillows are covered and protected by Allerease products. This is for your safety and protection as well as ours. Each bed is made up of a comfortable, mid-weight, queen-sized alternative-down comforter and four pillows. Each bedroom has a touch-light lamp with built-in USB charging abilities. You'll find velvet hangers in each closet and a shelf or bench in each room to place your luggage on if you desire. If you're in need of extra blankets or sheets, you'll find them above the closets in the cabinets. Bringing a young child with you? We've got their bed covered, too. There is a pack n play and a booster high chair available for you to easily access in the back room, near the back door. You'll also find a few toys and children's books under the reading book bench near the bathroom.
In the kitchen, you'll find Cuisinart pots and pans, a toaster, and knives. We have a Keurig and coffee pods ready for you as well as cream and sugar for those early mornings and late nights. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking a meal and includes some snacks to get you started on your trip. Please plan to make a grocery run once you're settled but we've got your basics covered such as salt, pepper, tajin, cooking oil, butter, and avocado oil (spray).
The dining room space includes a small dining table with 4 chairs. We would encourage you to try eating outside, especially for dinner, as our sunsets are truly gorgeous and long-lasting.
Our bathroom is small but it does the trick. We have installed new LifeProof flooring and a shower head for your personal hygiene pleasure. Please enjoy the complimentary Terra Pure shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and hand and body soap during your trip. You're welcome to take them home with you, too! If you're in need of additional towels during your stay you're welcome to use the washing machine or access the extra towels in the back room.
The living room space includes a brand new sleeper sofa and a simple but oh-so-comfortable chair. Play a few rounds of cards or Trivial Pursuit at the coffee table or enjoy the warmth of the wood stove as you put the day to bed.
