Summary: We recently stayed at Villa Alma and Villa Dulce over Thanksgiving for my wife's birthday with 16 people ranging in age from 7 to 83. The houses are immediately next to one another and have large bedrooms and most have ensuite bathrooms. Each of the 8 bedrooms had their own a/c units which were great to keep your rooms cool for sleeping. One of the homes has additional loft type sleeping however we did not use that space as we had enough beds in the bedrooms to accommodate everyone. The living areas, including the kitchen areas, are on the small side, however the homes are well set up for inside/outside living so it wasn't an issue for us however if you plan on doing a lot of cooking there be aware that it's a bit tight for cooking large meals. Outside there is covered parking for two to three vehicles along with a small fire pit, chairs and a smaller pool which is great to cool down in and relax. The best part about the stay is the host, Jai. She is extremely responsive and knowledgeable of the area and acts more as a concierge for anything you would want to do in the area and more than willing to accommodate just about any request you may have. She coordinated a few excursions for us, cleaning, and a private chef for one of our meals and it was all fantastic. I think this is especially valuable for folks who have never visited Costa Rica as she can provide recommendations for anything you may want to do.
