Summary: The property met our expectations. Being able to walk down a path through the backyard to get to the beach was a great perk. The beach was pretty empty which was nice. We enjoyed watching the sun setting over the ocean. The garden areas are well maintained and quite lovely. Howler monkeys were often in the trees- note that their dawn “howling” is surprisingly loud. We kinda freaked out the first morning because of the volume and duration but became accustomed to their vocalizations and enjoyed watching them play and travel through the trees on the property. The house, pool and the outdoor kitchen area had plenty of seating for our group. We appreciated having a washer/dryer in the house since our stay at Casa Escondido was at the end of our 2 week vacation. There are 4 restaurants/bars as well as a small market within walking distance to the house. Highly recommend dining at Cafe Azul and the Grateful Hotel. The property manager and the “handyman” were helpful and responded quickly when needed. The ladies in our group highly recommend massages with Ara. There were some things that need a little TLC which have been brought to the attention of the house manager. Would recommend this rental house.
