Screened patio and separate sundeck with delightful dipping pool fits all comforts for Costa Rica travelers. The scent of ylang ylang trees perfume the air and the view from your porch is of large Guanacaste trees, exotic flowers, and the jungle faced coastal mountain range. The fruit garden provides a bounty of seasonal bananas, starfruit, coconuts, mango, citrus and more.
The accommodations include an extra comfortable queen bed with a pillow top mattress. The full bathroom and kitchen, and spacious screened porch bring all the comforts of home. There is a security safe for valuables. From the screened-in porch, the mountain and garden views are beautiful with many birds and butterflies making their home, including morphos - the electric blue butterfly. There is a private outdoor jacuzzi tub on the deck for your evening star gazing enjoyment, or for a cooler dip in the afternoon.
Of special note on the premises is 'Palm Spa', which offers convenient spa treatments for your pleasure and relaxation.
The garden is ever changing with seasonal fruits and flowers at hand for your enjoyment. There are paths throughout the 5 acre estate which will lead you through exotic flowers, the zen garden, the Labyrinth, through bamboo groves to the Spa House, the meditation stream, or wherever you wander. You may hear the call of the area resident rainbow macaws, along with many other bird species.
For those desiring an occasional 'plug in', there is an open air pavilion on premises for WIFI, DVD or TV viewing. Weekly yoga classes are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Private yoga classes can also be arranged.
Casa Bambu is located 3 minutes from the scenic and paved Costa Rican Pacific coastal highway. No 4wd vehicle is necessary to access this property. This retreat will feel remote, but is convenient to activities the area has to offer. Though we encourage guests to rent a vehicle for more freedom for exploring, the village of Ojochal has much to offer and groceries and restaurants can be accessed by foot or by the supplied mountain bikes. Also local taxi or tour bus can do front door pick-ups for your tour needs.
The village of Ojochal is ideal for lovers of gourmet cuisine with a number of the area's finest restaurants. There's also a popular French bakery nearby with delicious fresh, warm-from-the-oven breads, and a Licorea for those looking for special ingredients to cook at home.
Just 5 minutes away is one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches, Playa Ventanas, and the popular surfer's beach in Dominical, is approximately 30 minutes north. The newly built San Buenas Golf Course is 10 minutes south, and many other local attractions are close by; horseback riding, zip lines, ATV tours, off shore fishing and boating, etc.. For book lovers there is the village library within walking distance, or you can ride the two mountain bikes provided for your enjoyment as well.
